The team at RealTimePhotos.com is a customer service oriented business dedicated to providing the highest quality dog show or event photograph(s) in the shortest time possible. Two of the team members at RealTimePhotos.com are former owner handlers and think that dog show photography should be more reflective of the time and money expended getting the dogs ready to show. The driving force for the radically different approach to dog show photography from RealTimePhotos.com was born out of frustration from getting less than great photographs from showing our own dogs. We are not trying to condemn any individual or photographer, but would rather prove to the dog show enthusiast that it is not unreasonable to expect a great photograph of your dog.
A few years ago Dave started analyzing every photograph he had purchased as an exhibitor as well as those photographs purchased by his fellow exhibitor friends. The results of analyzing all of those dog photographs was quite shocking; there was room for vast improvements in photographic quality. The two main culprits for less than great photographs were the wrong lighting and extraneous items in the background. Dave was the first dog photographer in the United States to use studio lighting equipment and shoot all photographs in front of a photographic background. Addressing the lighting issue resulted in proper exposure for all dogs; no longer were the white dogs over exposed and the black dogs under exposed. The result and effect of proper exposure ensured that the detail in a dog's coat was properly photographed. With the addition of digital technology several good things happened for both the client and RealTimePhotos.com.
